Today’s post brought to you by the letters “L”(actic) and “A”(cid), the number 42.195 (kms) and tomorrow’s Royal Victoria Marathon Festival of Running, in which Jim here is one of the favourites for a podium finish in the half marathon.

I’m a little early with this daily photo, but we’ll be away from home and disconnected tomorrow, so there you are.  And here she is, the picture of strength in the face of challenge and adversity.

I have heard a number of his competitors describe Canadian Paul Tichelaar as one of the most talented racers on the men’s international professional triathlon circuit.  Coming back from a nearly-season-ending injury, Paul raced to as high as 2nd place in last month’s Triathlon World Championships in Australia.
